The Triconex DI3503E (Model 3503E) is a high-integrity, Triple Modular Redundant (TMR) digital input module designed for Tricon safety instrumented systems (SIS) by Invensys Triconex (now part of Schneider Electric). It serves as a critical interface for acquiring discrete on/off signals from field devices in safety-critical industrial environments.

Built on the proven TMR architecture, it features three independent signal circuits per channel and 2oo3 (two-out-of-three) voting logic, ensuring complete fault tolerance. This eliminates single-point failure risks, guaranteeing accurate signal detection even if one channel malfunctions. The module accepts 24 VAC/VDC signals, supporting both dry (passive) and wet (active) contact inputs from field switches, sensors, and relays.

It offers 32 input channels, grouped into 4 isolated banks of 8 channels each. Equipped with advanced self-diagnostics, it continuously monitors channel health, field wiring, and internal faults. The module is hot-swappable, allowing online replacement without system shutdown, maximizing uptime.
