I. System Composition and Basic Principles

1:Core component
  • 8mm Probe (Probe) ‌ : It directly senses the distance change of the conductive surface to be measured and is usually installed on the bearing box or housing to align with the shaft surface.
  • Extension Cable ‌ : connects the probe to the preamplifier. The standard length is 5 meters, meeting the API 670 standard requirements ‌
  • Proximitor Sensor ‌ : converts the electrical signal sensed by the probe into a standard voltage output linearly proportional to the distance, and can simultaneously analyze static position and dynamic vibration signals ‌

2:Working principle

Based on the eddy current effect: The probe coil generates a high-frequency electromagnetic field, which induces eddy currents when acting on the surface of the conductive shaft. The intensity of these eddy currents is directly proportional to the gap between the probe and the shaft surface. The preamplifier converts this gap variation into a DC voltage (static position) and an AC voltage (dynamic vibration) output ‌.

  • Key phase signal (Keyphasor) ‌ : provides the speed reference phase, used for vibration phase analysis and start-stop process monitoring ‌
