“On August 21, 2025, Valmet announced that it will supply two high-end cultural paper production lines to a certain customer in China and provide related automation systems and services”
These two production lines will be used to manufacture uncoated mechanical pulp paper (uncoated all-wood pulp paper) and are scheduled to be operational by the end of 2026 to the beginning of 2027. Previously, Valmet has delivered a number of technical equipment to this customer, including complete paper and paperboard production lines. This order has been included in Valmet’s new orders for the second quarter of 2025. The order amount is not disclosed to the public for the time being.
The delivery content provided by Valmet for these two papermaking production lines will include pulp preparation solutions, as well as a high-speed, advanced and high-end cultural paper production line from the pulp box to the paper reel and rewinder. At the same time, we will also provide a full range of Valmet DNA automation solutions, paper fabrics, spare parts and consumables packages.

The company’s net sales are expected to reach approximately 5.4 billion euros in 2024.
Valmet mainly operates around five business lines, namely services, flow control, automation systems, pulp and energy, and paper. Its business territory covers regions such as North America, South America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, the Asia-Pacific region, and China. Valmet’s financial report for the first half of 2025 shows that new orders increased by 22% from January to June 2025, reaching 2.852 billion euros (2.333 billion euros in the same period last year), and new orders in all three divisions were on the rise, with new orders in China and North America increasing.
Zhu Xiangdong, Executive Vice President of Valmet and President of Valmet China, said: “These two brand-new wide-format high-speed paper machines integrate multiple of the most advanced technologies currently available on the market, ensuring high production capacity and high performance.” These orders are of great significance to us and also confirm that the technical equipment we previously delivered to this customer has performed exceptionally well. This client is an important customer and strategic partner of Valmet in the Chinese market. We are very glad to continue in-depth cooperation with them in the future.
The supply of these two high-end cultural paper production lines not only continues the long-term trust and cooperation between Valmet and Chinese customers, but also demonstrates its global leading strength in papermaking equipment and automation technology. As the production line gradually starts up from the end of 2026 to the beginning of 2027, it will not only help customers increase the production capacity and quality of uncoated and mechanical-free pulp and paper to meet market demands, but also further deepen Valmet’s layout in China’s papermaking industry, injecting new impetus into the technological upgrading and efficient development of the domestic papermaking industry. In the future, relying on its mature technical system and localized service capabilities, Valmet is expected to continuously expand the boundaries of cooperation with Chinese customers and jointly explore innovative development paths in the papermaking field.
